Album art: Crystal Kay - Spin the music

Crystal looks nice, as she always does. But as I mentioned before: between this album cover, her lead single "Journey" and the year old "After love -First boyfriend-" sounding Christmassed out, this album may as well have been a Christmas album. I mean, c'mon now: What the hell has Crystal being dressed up like an eskimo have to do with spinnin' music!? With an album title like Spin the music Crystal should not be looking as though she's about to go feed Rudolph a biscuit, and then crack a whip to the North pole.

  1. Y'know, I'd laugh if it wasn't so true!

  2. I love this cover, i agree it doesn't really go with the title but she looks good enough to grab some attention on a shop shelf.
BTW, now i am obsessed with "Journey ~Kimito Futaride" lol the video is probably the best she's made and has lifted my expectations for this album.

  3. I don't like the cover solely because it's irrelevant. Is that wrong of me? I thought she'd at least be holding a vinyl or something.

  4. "I don't like the cover solely because it's irrelevant. Is that wrong of me?"

Nope. Because it's the exact same reason why I don't like it.

I know her album is releasing for the holidays, but this is just dumb. It's a straight-up Christmas album cover.

Also; why dye your hair red, and then hide your most striking feature completely behind a bunch of fur!?

  5. She looks silly, to be honest. And not the cute kind of silly. Shame.

  6. Oh man you guys are crazy, i agree that it doesn't really fit the title but it is a GREAT cover. CK looks fantastic and that top is so cool pluss since it does look Christmas like and it's reeased near Christmas more peope may check it out on the shelf.

  7. I'm not feeling this album cover. It's not even the fact that it doesn't match the album name. Crystal's eyes have no emotion. It looks like she's pulling an ayumi and looking robotic.

  8. since when does an album cover has to match the album name? if you don't like it stfu nobody wants to here you bitch for ex: eminem's recovery album cover it shows him walking down a road if the album cover should match the name the his album should have been called the road to recovery why would the album cover matter anyways i like it and the CD is gonna be the hottest shit in Japan

Re-read what you wrote about 'Recovery' then think for a second. You pretty much explained the meaning behind the shot of Eminem walking down a road alone and the album title. Eminem didn't need to have "Road to" in the album title, because it's pretty much implied by the image itself. Therefore making it relevant.

An album cover doesn't have to be directly related to the album name. But the image should be relevant and fit some-what. Spin the music's album cover looks more festive than Shining's and that was actually a CK Christmas set. I know this album is releasing for the holidays, but DAMN! All this album cover needed was a HOT picture of Crystal. That is all. Epic / Sony could have used a still shot from Crystal's "Flash" video and it would have fit better than this Sleigh driving looking shit that got chosen.

The music IS more important than the album cover, I agree. But album covers are still of importance, because they are the visual representation of the album itself. Regular music buyers would see Spin the music on a shelf and just assume it's a Christmas album - when it's not at all. Plus, Crystal goes and dyes her hair red. And then hides her new striking feature and image change behind a fur hood?! That makes sense.

  10. i do agree with Anonymous why should it matter and who cares if she dyes her hair red and hides it it will be seen in the booklet so get over it ok and the cover is very pretty who cares if it looks like a Christmas cover the cover might have something to do with Japan you never know you know

  11. @Random J it was his/her point to explain it lol the person is saying it doesn't really matter what the album cover looks like and the name doesn't have to match it i do agree with Anonymous your a smart person why should the cover matter it's the songs that matter

  12. *rolls eyes at these Anonymous comments*

If album covers didn't matter whatsoever, then we'd have blank CD-R's on shelves. A blank CD-R would still have been more relevant than what got chosen for Spin the music's album cover.

Spin the music's album cover is not only boring and irrelevant, but it isn't striking or alluring (at least not to me). Nowhere near as much as Crystal's "Journey" single cover which looks stunning, and should have been the album cover because it's striking and catches your attention for all the right reasons.

Image plays an important part in music. And one of my points is that I feel this album cover is a poor representation of Crystal's current image.

  13. @Random J don't listen to these anonymous comments because they obviously don't know what they're talking about. Crystal is not as famous as other artist in japan. It's extremely important to have an album cover that brings attention to itself because when your eyes are scanning hundreds of album covers on the shelves they will dismiss this one because it is nothing special. Crystal needs everything to be on point in order to sell well. While it may be true that this album will more than likely be hot, it will definitely NOT be burning up the charts. Also, why die your hair red if you didn't plan on showing it off? Rihanna was flaunting her shit all over her album cover. What's going to make this album stand out from all the other Christmas bullshit cluttering up the shelves?

  14. @Melvin R what are you talking Crystal is big in japan i use to live there she's huge she's like beyonce there

  15. leave Crystal alone if she doesn't wanna show her hair on the cover then that's ok the cove looks awesome fuck off really let her do her own thing damn you people her hair might be showing on the back of the album or inside the album booklet that is if your going to support her music like real Crystal fans would instead of downloading it

  18. Maybe it dosen't fit with the title but I like this picture. I think she looks rather sweet. And I still say its a damn site better than all those pouty mouth or standing around looking like a doll covers that most of those j-pop chicks put out.

  19. @ beruda. I like the picture too. I love everything she does. As a die hard fan I support her decisions, but I just wish her company would advertise better. I would buy her music if it had no album cover, but if she wants to make it big she needs to step her promotion game up.
